Fill in the _____ Friday

  1. The last thing I ate was... salad.
  2. The next thing I'd like to eat is... crepes!
  3. The best things... are unexpected.
  4. Something that makes me supremely and utterly happy is... not being under pressure. Not having any deadlines, anything I have to do or anywhere I need to be and just being able to lose track of time.
  5. Sports are... something I've learned to enjoy but still don't always get. I was an only child in a creative family - we went for walks, did projects, rode bikes - but team sports were never a part of my childhood. I am really loving hockey lately though!
  6. I miss... all my friends and "family" who are scattered throughout the world. I'm blessed that they came into my life, and it is richer for them, but it's hard not being able to see them!
  7. Right now I am... behind on everything and pretty much ready for a vacation!

Fill in the _____ Friday

  1. The last move I saw was... Daydream Nation. I actually liked it, for the most part. Though it reminded me a lot of what it was like to be in high school in a small town.
  2. I want to... go home! It's just been one of those weeks. I can't wait to block out the world, play with my cats, watch a good movie and sleep in!
  3. Surprises are... nerve-wracking. I tend to know that one is coming and I worry that I won't like it or that I'll react wrong. I don't really like surprises, to be honest!
  4. The best accessory is... hmmm. I'm not much of a fashion person, but I guess a great handbag, funky scarf or jacket and sunglasses.
  5. My favourite warm drink is... decaf peppermint mocha at Starbucks. Mmmmmm.
  6. My favourite cold drink is... beer!!
  7. Currently loving... Juice Beauty. I recently discovered them (see my post here) when I decided I wanted to try to find more natural, organic and cruelty free cosmetics to replace some of the iffy things I have in my bathroom. I'm in love with their Green Apple Antioxidant Moisturizer - I swear it has made my skin look and feel better!

Wicked Wednesday - Canucks Stanley Cup Finals - "Inches"

Okay, I know it's the second hockey Wicked Wednesday in a row - but really it's what's on my mind come game day, and today is GAME 7! The final game in the final series that will determine which team takes home the cup. I'm so nervous I can barely type!

Fill in the _____ Friday

  1. This weekend I'm... going to the dentist...and...I'm really not happy about it. :(
  2. My last vacation was... waaaaaaaay too long ago. Seriously, barely remember it.
  3. My next vacation will be... epic!
  4. My favourite way to relax is... with a good book, a beer, sun, a comfy spot outdoors in partial shade with a breeze... or wandering around an unknown city discovering wonderful new things with nowhere you have to be...
  5. When vacationing one should always... remind yourself not to do things because you "should" do them. That goes against the whole purpose.
  6. When vacationing one should never... get grumpy and petty. Let the little things go and hold onto your good mood! They lost your luggage? No problem, you can go shopping. Your hotel booked you twin beds instead of a king? No problem, push them together. You can't find that awesome restaurant your friend recommended? No problem, if you wander maybe you'll stumble across somewhere even better that you can recommend. It's all about keeping it positive!
  7. The best part about vacation is... when you're packed, checked in, settled in your seat, and waiting for the plane to take off. In that moment you've got your whole vacation to look forward to, all the preparation and planning is done, if you forgot something it's too late to do anything about it, and you can just relax and let it wash over you!

  1. I love... blank notebooks because... they are full of the promise of great ideas.
  2. A time that mama knew best was... Hmmm. No specific time stands out to me.
  3. My first kiss went a little like this... This might sound weird, but I honestly don't remember. I assume I was probably nervous, and it was probably embarrassing.
  4. My celebrity crush is... it would have to be David Bowie. I've been in love with him since the first time I watched Labyrinth at the age of 7.
  5. My splurge of choice is... currently Juice Beauty. I just discovered them and am LOVING their products. I've bought their SPF face and body cream for the summer. Pricey but it smells and feels delicious and I'm happy knowing that they don't use chemicals, their products are 98% organic and they don't test on animals.
  6. My biggest accomplishment is... that's a tough question. Finishing University was one of them, but honestly I think the hardest work I've done in my life has been on myself - dealing with my medical situations and finding a way to live with those, trying to be a better person, partner, friend, daughter etc. Of course I'm not perfect and it's still a work in progress - will be for the rest of my life - but looking back I feel like I've changed a lot and learned a lot in the past ten years.
  7. My dance jam of choice is... anything with a good beat!

Wicked Wednesday - Me & You Reusable Shopping Bags

Okay, I realize that this makes two posts in a row telling you about stuff to buy, but somehow it just worked out that way, and I want to share this one before the deal is over. It wasn't on purpose, honest! I stumbled across these locally made, reusable bags in a Grooster special last week. Now, their signature bags look like this:

These bags are great, but the bags I'm really impressed with are these:

Plenty of companies - even most grocery stores - have reusable grocery bags these days. But these bags were a first for me - and such a great idea! I mean, plastic shopping bags I can reuse to gather recycling in or line small trash cans in the bathrooms, but the produce plastic bags... well there's really not a whole lot you can do with those once the fruits and veggies are all used up. I'll definitely be switching to these babies!
Visit here to check out all the bags Me & You carry, and here to check out the Grooster deal.
