I stumbled across this blog after Lin left a comment on one of my Fill in the Blank Friday link-ups. And oh, am I ever glad I did! This lady is seriously hilarious - and she appears to share my love for The Closer, food that you know you shouldn't eat, naughty/funny cartoons, sarcasm and Sons of Anarchy. Also (and possibly more importantly) my distaste for crappy Hollywood remakes and unnecessary sequels (SATC 2. 'Nuff said.), Jersey Shore, acrylic nails, singing co-workers, mornings and rudeness.
She's also refreshingly honest and open about the sorts of things we all think about, worry about and go through - like money problems, body image issues, less-than-fulfilling jobs, and the hard decisions that come with being a grown-up. These are things I've been struggling with myself, and it's great to not only know that other women my age are going through the same tough places, but to be inspired by how she deals with it. Even if it's by deciding not to deal with it and watch TV instead. We all need to do that sometimes! Lin manages to be funny, witty, engaging and really entertaining - no matter what topic she's discussing - and it's like a breath of fresh air.
Being relatively new to blogging, it's really great to have found another blogger who is friendly, funny and takes the time to share her thoughts with newbies like me! She's also the inspiration for my new series, Ten on Tuesdays (very new - I've only done one post, but hopefully it'll stick!).
Here are a few of my favourite posts:
- Having A Conscience & Being Broke Don't Mix Well
- Ten on Tuesday (September 6)
- Ten on Tuesday (September 20)
- That Pretty Face Doesn't Match That Bad Attitude...
- If You're Gonna Be A Dirty Girl, You Gotta Own It
- Toys Aren't Biased, They're For Everyone (warning - adult topic)
- Perfectly Imperfect Body Issues (warning - adult topics)
If you like me, you'll love her. Pop over and say "hi" if you need a break from daily monotony!
I love love your blog -- and have given you an award! Check it out here: http://lifeofnashvegasmeg.blogspot.com/2011/09/id-like-to-thank.html
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much, Meghan! I've posted the award linking back to you and on to a few more blogs! I'm totally blown away, since I don't actually consider myself a "real" blogger yet. Now I feel more motivated to keep at it! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOmg you have no clue what an honor it is to be mentioned! I've been blogging for a lil past 2yrs now & no lie, I still feel like a newbie. You make me sound so sophisticated & entertaining...I think you may just be my new interweb bff lol.
ReplyDeleteOn the real though, thanks for saying all this nice stuff, you totally made my freakin' day :)
I'm so glad you feel that way, Lin! I must admit I was a little worried you might not like something I said, but I figured you'd take it in the spirit in which it was meant ;) I pretty much spent the whole weekend working and reading your archives and even though I was super stressed it made me giggle and go "YES! She SO gets it!"
